It's times like these when I want to drop kick my camera to China and purchase a big fancy one. Rather than admit it might be my own skillz (or lack thereof), I choose to blame the camera. And let's face it, mirrors are REALLY hard to photograph. Anywho, I'd be lying if I said I was ecstatic with how the following pictures turned out.
Regardless, here's the bedroom! This is our room so I really wanted to make it a mixture of us, full of things we both love. If something was feminine, I tried to pair it with something masculine. His favorite color is blue and mine is green, so guess what? A blue and green room. Dark furniture for him, mirrors for me. Architectural lines for him, soft linen curtains for me. Hope you like it!
Here's the before...
And after!
I would love to say, "It looks so much better in person!" but I know that's a cop-out so I won't. (But really, it looks better in person.)
I got by with a little help from my friends: West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Target. I started this project when I was funemployed, and I'm happy to say it's finally (well 95%) complete.
And now we're off to work on the yard. This home improvement stuff never stops!

Gorgeous! Uber jealous of your mirrored bedside tables. I've been contemplating some of those for quite some time...they look perfect in there!
Your second job as an interior decorator is really coming along nicely. Glad you have enough taste for the both of us!
I'm definitely digging those mirrored side tables! The room looks great-can't wait to see it in person next week!!
And I'd like to say you inherited you decorating talents from me, but we both know that isn't the case! (Proof night on Wednesday!)It looks great!
Love the room!!! You did a great job, love love love the color. It makes me want to at least clean my house ;)
LOVE it!! Love how modern and simple it is...oh West Elm, you are a gem :) You did a fabulous job! Love the bamboo on the shelf too.
I LOVE IT! My fav=the mirrored bedside tables! I absolutely adore them! Great job, girlie!
and also.. where did you get that letter H thingy? I would LOVE one of those but with a J on it.. B/c well.. I dont like the letter W. Strange, I know. Anyway, it'd look fun on my dresser I think! (I'm totally stealing ideas from you. Obviously). XOXO!
Zee Bedroom is gorgeous--especially the blue walls! And I know what you mean about the quality of pictures--we do have an SLR camera but I'm too lazy to learn how.
Looks very clean and neat. I'd be really embarrassed to show any pictures of our bedroom after seeing this, especially as we're stilling using the Queen comforter on the King bed. Like with clothing accessories (I said that "assessories" in my head), I don't do decorating either. Want to do mine??
PS--now that I've moved from lurker to commenter I do have to warn that my comments are kind of lenghty. Sorry.
Good job Merd! Nicely done! Very serene and relaxing ... and propos to Cari on the awesome prints!
Goooooorgous! What a wonderful and serene place to recover! :) It looks right out of a magazine! :)
