29 Weeks

This is the only time in my life I've wanted to speed through 29 and just get to 30.  I have mini goals that I've set for these babies and the first is 32 weeks.  30 sounds so much closer than 29.  :)

This past week definitely had its ups and downs.  Let's start with the ups!  After a wonderful 28-week appointment on Wednesday my parents came to visit and it was so great to see them.  Since I am now at home full-time (Wait--what?!  More on that later...) and am leaving the house less and less due to slowing down quite a bit, it can get very lonely.  They were excellent company and some of the only people I know who really don't mind running errands with me.  They left Saturday afternoon and I was so sad to see them go.  The good news: They're coming back next month--one more time before the babies arrive!  Hip hip!

Michael and I decided to walk around Northpark Mall in search of a birthday gift for the soon-to-be 30-year-old.  We also ran a few small errands and then headed home.  I think it was too much for this fat lady to handle so Saturday night was spent in bed, freaking out about multiple Braxton Hicks contractions.  I was SO SURE I was going into labor that night.  (I didn't.)

By the way, let's back up a day to Friday where I received the results from my first glucose test.  I FAILED.  Epically.  We're talking, F minus fail.  I do the extended test this Friday, which requires complete fasting (no food or water after midnight) and then four blood draws.  The test begins at 9 am and takes three hours so I will go without food and water for 12 HOURS.  After failing the first test so badly I'm not sure why the second test is even necessary, but that's not for me to decide.  And while I expected the bad news I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed.  Oh well, these kiddos are worth it.  :)

We had company over on Sunday morning and then celebrated our nephew's 7th birthday that afternoon.  After the contraction scare on Saturday night I've been really trying to take it easy.  I called the doctor yesterday and she didn't seem too concerned.  There is another measurement they take at the Perinatologist each month that gives them a good idea if I'll go into pre-term labor.  I pass that test with flying colors each time (meaning: the kiddos are staying put for now).  With that in mind, BH contractions don't make my doctor very nervous.  Just me.  And yet another reason I'm so anxious to get through this week... and all the weeks that follow.

I don't mean for this post to be a downer, I'm still feeling good and have no other labor signs.  I do believe making it to 38 weeks seems like a pipe dream now whether my doctors agree with that statement or not.  A little prayer for my confidence and stress level wouldn't hurt--I need to snap out of it and go back to thinking everything is going to be just fine, which I prefer more than what I can only describe as my current Eeyore mentality.  :)

29 Weeks!

I have NO doubt that you are going to continue to have a wonderful & healthy pregnancy that lasts to 38 weeks and results in two proud parents, two BEAUTIFUL babies, and a chubby cat at home :) Praying all goes well next week with the extended test and that you continue to feel well these last 8-9(ish) weeks (yay!!). And, you still look ridiculously cute!!

you cannot have two babies in there...you are nowhere near big enough! you look beautiful. try not to let the stress bring you down and trust your doctors. ;) when all else fails, hug thumbs.

First, you look awesome. Second, you can do this!!!! I was showing some serious signs of pre-term labor at 28 weeks (cervix very short, contractions). At that point, I stopped working (was working only 2 days per week), and pretty much stayed at home and rested. Think: scooter for grocery shopping kind of taking it easy. Eight anxious weeks later, and only 3 days before my scheduled c-section, I delivered my sweet, chubby baby girls (5.7 and 5.9 at 36 weeks, 0 days). Seriously, you can do this!!!!

Still adorable! Sorry you got some bummer news. Am I dreaming or are you terrified of needles? Either way, I'll say a prayer that this day flies by for you and you pass that test with flying colors!

I have 3 things to say. They may or may not happen this way for you (obvs) but just sharing.

1. I had BH's starting at 22 weeks w/ NK and 26 w/ Nate. Like not fun ones. Particularly with NK. (And, clearly, I made it to almost 42 weeks!) I know twinnies are different but they look pretty comfy snuggled all head-to-head in your belly. They're not coming out to play yet! ;)

2. I failed (pretty badly) both my one hour tests - with both pregnancies. I passed the three hour test both times. (Failing the first hour of the 3 hours test both times.)

3. You look fantastic and I adore your updates. Seriously. You're going to be great. At all of it.

I love all of these comments...you have such a great fan club! Would you believe I had ANOTHER twin dream last night? This time you called me in the morning to tell me that you were in the hospital and they were about to be here, and everything was totally happy and normal. (I promise I'm not making this up AND I promise that I'm not a crazy stalker who has nightly dream about your children ;)

I believe you are the person who pointed out that my uterus "hoards babies." I'm praying that yours does the same. (But not to 42 weeks because that is just TOO DAMN LONG.) Lots of love to you all. Happy hoarding!

Boo on the glucose test. Maybe you'll pass the long one? Either way, that long one doesn't sound like fun at all. You four are in my thoughts and prayers as you inch closer to that 38 week mark!

p.s. you still look gorgeous, but I don't want to be annoying and always tell you that every.time. And if you ever want to get rid of your maternity clothes, I will buy them. Not kidding. How do you find the cutest things? It has to be Dallas v. Tulsa.

Hey friend! I can't offer any advice on the BH contractions because if I was having those sans babies in my belly, things would be a little cray-cray around these parts. But, I can say.. you can do this! Team 38 weeks right here in Tulsa rooting for you! You are fantastic, gorgeous, and going to be a great momma to those little twins, regardless when they arrive.. but they're not arriving for MANY weeks!! Annnd bring on this week's 3 hour test. You will rock it. :)

Sorry about the not so great news with the glucose test, but hoping you hear the opposite with the three hour test! Praying for those babies to stay put for a good while longer! Definitely don't feel bad about taking it super easy! --I have all 10 seasons of Friends if you want to borrow them :)

You can do it!! We can do it! :) I go homebound starting Monday- and looking forward to the slow down, for sure. My doctor put it perfectly in regards to BH- your body thinks you are close to delivery (I am measuring 4-5 weeks ahead with the girls..) so, the BH are totally normal! Hang in there, girl! I'll continue to pray for you and sweet babies! BTW- we were at Northpark on Saturday, too! By the end of the trip, J was carrying my purse and I was complaining of back pain :) Def time to slow it down.
